Maroochydore is well known for shopping. It is the home to the biggest shopping venue, Sunshine Plaza, which boasts a plethora of 230 stores to choose from Myer,  K-Mart, Target etc., 12 Cinemas and Coles Supermarket. Trading 7 days a week, with the Riverwalk dining precinct, makes it a very exciting place to visit.

Through our back gate to the Big Top Shopping centre which has one of the largest Woolworths store. Chemist and Newsagency. Restaurants and shops
Ocean Street has hairdressers, Real Estate Offices. Travel Agency. Lots of exciting new restaurants have opened up recently. Next door to Avis Car Rentals, over the road from Anglican and Catholic Churches.

If it’s funky fashion boutiques or stylish home wares you are after, you can’t go past Cotton Tree. On Sunday pick up some local craft and fresh local produce at the Cotton Tree Markets.
Also there is a large market at Fishermans Road Maroochydore on Sunday morning. Big Pineapple has markets on Saturday and Sunday morning. Every 2nd Friday in the month there is the Ocean St Night Markets from 5 – 9pm whilst there try out The Captain and the Duke’s Pop Up Bar, it has been a huge success. Whatever your taste, there will be a bulging shopping bag with your name on it.

PLAY

Maroochydore offers convenience and variety when it comes to deciding what to do with your day.
Play a round at the Horton Park Golf Course, right in the heart of Maroochydore  or leave golf until after dark and  practice your swing on the full-size driving range.
To try a green of a different kind visit  the Maroochydore Beach Bowls Club on Memorial Avenue, with Maroochydore Tennis Club located directly behind, the choice is yours. Public Swimming Pool in Cotton Tree.
Play or relax on the beach with lots of lovely spots that offer a natural playground that never goes out of fashion.

TASTE

Maroochydore can now boast that it has some of Australia’s most innovative dining.
Visit stylish Duporth Avenue and Cotton Tree for your choice of waterfront alfresco with an edge. Try the Deli Co for comfit of duck, or choose  Japanese, and Asian Restaurants.
The Plaza has too many too mention but KFC and McDonalds are always popular.
Our own favorite restaurant where all the ‘locals’ go, – is ORLÉANS on Duporth Ave, can’t go past his Seafood Gumbo.
Maroochydore RSL and Maroochy Surf Club have free buses.

EXPLORE

Whether you do it by land or water, the natural beauty of Maroochydore’s main beach and river have to be explored.
By surfboard, barbecue boat, jet ski, canoe or sailing boat, your exploration should begin at Swan Boat Hire on Bradman Avenue.

If you would rather keep your toes dry then make sure you visit Chamber’s Island.
Free Barbecues at Picnic Point behind Duporth Avenue. Also at the Park, which has a childrens playground on The Esplanade Cotton Tree.
The locals know that the best time to enjoy the immense birdlife along the river is first thing in the morning when the parrots, pelicans, cockatoos, swans and herons are at play.
